About us

The Institute of Applied Mechanics (FAM) was founded in 1986 with the appointment of Prof. Dr. H.A. Richard at the University of Paderborn. FAM does research in the field of applied mechanics and teaches students in the basics of mechanical engineering and in methods of structural analysis. FAM is partner of industry regarding the optimisation of products.
